has opened its doors in the heart of Henley Beach, west of the Adelaide CBD. After walking along the beach, you can come up from the shore for an artisan made gelato with flavours that'll send you straight back to your holiday in Italy.



This place has been in high demand, with owner Adriano Macri, saying they went through 120kg per day of gelato during their opening weekend back in January 2019.



There are 7 permanent flavours to choose from as well as specials lovingly crafted from seasonal and local produce. Expect to see flavours such as Gawler Pistachio (our favourite!), Hazelnut Piemonte and Dutch Chocolate.



Vegan sorbet (sorbetto) options are also available. Both the Lemon and Strawberry options will set your mouth watering. Perfect for those wanting a refreshing, lighter option on those super warm days.



Handcrafting each flavour from scratch adds a new level of flavour if you haven't had the opportunity of trying 'real' gelato before. The nuts are roasted and created into a paste in-house, and you'll even see the lemons or other ingredients around the shop or being processed in the back room.



You'll notice the words 'Noi lo facciamo davanti a tutti' above a large window at the back of the store, which translates to 'We do it in front of everyone', so kids and adults alike can watch all the behind the scenes action. There's even a gelato machine built into the front counter known as 'Effe'.



With cone selections - it was great to see a gluten-free and kids option available. You can also ask for a dark chocolate coating on the inside, or top with whipped cream for a decadent twist.



If you can't decide on one flavour, you can select up to three scoops or flavours per cone or cup.



We were lucky enough to also try the Award-Winning Salted Pecan and Maple Syrup gelato - Adriano's speciality recipe that he learnt from his mentor, Canadian Gelato Maestro James Coleridge. If you can get your hands on a scoop of this, it's a definite winner in our books.



No matter where you are in Adelaide, this place is worth the trip for any of the artisan flavours on offer.
