I often say I cannot wait until I retire to have time to spend on my family history research, which is not only for my own pleasure but for those youngsters in the future that may want to know where their roots began.
Botany Bay holds a special interest for many whose ancestors may have been on Captain James CookHMS Endeavour when the vessel landed there in 1770 or perhaps the area is where your ancestors first settled. Cook's landing marked the beginning of Britain's interest in Australia and in its colonisation.
During the day volunteers from the Botany Bay Family History Society will be on hand to help you with your research while also giving you the opportunity to access worldwide resources.
This is a FREE event, however, if you are feeling unwell, please do not attend. The doors open at 10.00am and close at 2.00pm. There will be tea and coffee provided during the event.
