Botanical Bazaar, the Gold Coast's largest garden festival, returns to Country Paradise Parklands on Sunday 16 September 2018.Ideal for families, urban gardeners and nature lovers alike, the day will feature a jam-packed program of interactive workshops, celebrity gardener's talks, a green marketplace, botanical homewares, food, entertainment and much more!
Kicking off at 9am, Botanical Bazaar promises to be a fun-filled day out with a fabulous showcase of urban and organic gardening, sustainable living and botanical 'must-haves'! There will be an array of themed areas to explore with something to suit all levels and ages.
Below is a selection of the 2018 highlights:Plant Market: Discover a variety of beautiful plants, seedlings, heritage seeds, fresh flowers, fruits and vegetables. The large selection of plants include frangipanis, geraniums, bromeliads, airplants, natives, succulents, rainforest, staghorns, herbs, orchids, tropical, fruit trees and many more. Bring a car with a big empty boot to fit all your purchases!Medicinal Herbs and Health Hut: Qualified herbalists, aromatherapists, naturopaths and other natural health professionals will hold short medicinal herb talks and showcase a variety of products and services. Learn how to make and grow your own herbal remedies plus a huge range of medicinal seedlings will be available for sale from local and organic growers.Critters Corner: Get up close to inspect native and European bees and see hives in operation. Learn how to attract more birds to your backyard, visit the animal nursery and discover everything you need to know about worms and butterflies!Workshops: Take home new creative skills and your own piece of botanical art. These workshops incur a fee to cover materials and expertise as you will be learning from the best in the business! Make sure you pre-book to secure your place as spots are limited.Educational Talks: Inspiring presentations by various gardening and horticultural experts including Jerry Colbey-Williams from Gardening Australia, Phil Dudman and Claire Bickle. Plus talks by Herbalists and Natura Consulting environmentalists.Botanical Must Haves & Homewares: Peruse and purchase a beautiful collection of botanical homewares, beauty products, health goods and decor items.Community Groups: Local gardening groups passionate about their individual areas of interest will be onsite to answer any of your gardening questions. The Nerang Community Gardens will also open their gates for public viewing, teachings and interaction.Food & Entertainment: Enjoy delicious delights plus tea and coffee under the big fig tree in the grassy parkland. Leopold's Treat will also be performing live during the day. It's the perfect way to unwind on a leisurely Sunday afternoon.
