What better way to start the holidays than with an activity that is nature based. Kids love building cubbies and the Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria's school holiday event, back by popular demand, Create a Village Among the Oak Trees is a perfect fit. Covering four days from 16-19 January 2019 from 11am to 3pm, you can drop in any time at this free event at RBG Victoria, Birdwood Ave, Melbourne, at the Oak Lawn, Melbourne Gardens.

Curated by artist Darryl Cordell and inspired by his childhood in the bush, families can work together and build their very own special world. Let imaginations run free and build a new community village with natural materials collected from the gardens. Adults can let their inner child loose and have just as much fun helping their kids learn and play.

If you're looking for more events during the school holidays, the following ticketed events might interest you. RBG run many interesting events throughout the year for all ages at their Melbourne and Cranbourne Gardens. Perhaps you'd like to be a Friend of the RBG.
