Create a Village Among the Oak Trees is a perfect fit. Covering four days from
16-19 January 2019 from 11am to 3pm, you can drop in any time at this
free event at
RBG Victoria , Birdwood Ave, Melbourne, at the Oak Lawn, Melbourne Gardens.

Darryl Cordell and inspired by his childhood in the bush, families can work together and build their very own special world. Let imaginations run free and build a new community village with natural materials collected from the gardens. Adults can let their inner child loose and have just as much fun helping their kids learn and play.

3 Jan & 21 Jan 2019 from 11am to 1pm - Welcome to Biderap - School Holidays at Cranbourne Gardens ; $8 per person. Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Book here . Journey through the Australian Garden on a guided sensory walk, learn weaving techniques, wattle seed grinding and pot up some river mint to take home as you end the walk with a cup of lemon myrtle tea and a paddle in the waterway.
8-9 Jan 2019 from 11am to 1pm - Fire & Seed at Cranbourne Gardens ; $8 per child, accompanying adult free of charge. Book here . Learn how plants and animals that live in the bush cope with natural bushfires and how plants regenerate in the aftermath. 21-22 Jan 2019 from 11am to 1pm - Outdoor Escapades - School Holidays at Melbourne Gardens ; $16 per person - suitable for 8-12 years of age with an adult. Book here ; Put aside devices and immerse yourself in nature at the Melbourne Gardens. Connect to earth at this hands-on workshop designed with the principles of leading international forest schools. Create a woodworking project with resources harvested from the Gardens and explore the nooks and crannies of a living garden that's the heart of the city.
