I am a freelance writer living in Manly. I enjoy writing reviews for Weekend Notes.
I enjoy the outdoors and anything to do with the water. My interests are travel, Live Theatre,The Ballet and Restaurants that serve delicious innovative food.
The beauty of our Botanic Gardens is enhanced by the magnificent backdrop of Sydney Harbour. The Botanic Gardens Restaurant serves beautiful food. There is also a more casual choice to dine in a cafe which has an outdoor setting. Both these venues are wonderful, particularly on a sunny day.
I ordered the Confit of Salmon Fillet for a main, which was not only delicious but had a unique flavour. The waitress told me it had been put into boiling water and simmered in its own juices. It was probably the most flavoursome piece of salmon I have ever eaten. it was so delicate and pink in the middle simply melted in my mouth.

When we finished our lunch, we took a walk along a path leading to the left of the entrance to the restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by a show of beautiful flowers that seemed to have bloomed for an early spring.
As we walked along this path we came to a whole garden bed of these beautiful flowers.
Next time you have some free time take a walk in the park through the beauty of nature in the Botanical Gardens. Stop for Lunch in the Botanical Gardens Restaurant or a more casual snack in the cafe.
It makes for a great day out and you can take many paths to exit the gardens. Exploring the different paths can be fun; one takes you to Macquarie st another to the Art Gallery. Or you can walk back through the gardens to Circular Quay.
