Starting my weekend with a girl's night out, I found myself at a place called Botanic Bar. When I heard where we were headed I thought to myself that it would be a long night, however, when I arrived at Botanic Bar I was pleasantly surprised.
Entering the Botanic Bar, you are greeted with fine décor resembling a candlelit hotel lobby, funky pop music and a relaxing atmosphere. Adding to the relaxing atmosphere, you find yourself being seated in a candlelit booth. Outside, there are round paper lanterns that give the outdoor tables an elegant romantic feel. There is also a great view of the Park Lands and the gates of the Botanic Gardens. They provide a wide selection of drinks making it a great place for all occasions, whether it is to relax with a girl's night or sharing a few drinks with a large group of friends.
The staff are great, not to mention good looking, and often walk around asking if you would like another drink so that you can just sit back and relax. It makes you feel like a pampered princess because you are so well looked after. The bartenders really know all about their drinks and their knowledge of different cocktails is impressive. They've got local imports that won't stretch your budget and a large selection of wines and spirits.
Although the atmosphere is very relaxing, I just did not like the lighting of the place. It was dim and a big dull, making it hard to read the menu. The music was just a bit too loud and I couldn't really concentrate on relaxing. However, I am a person that likes my room well lit and my music playing softly in the background.
Overall I think the Botanic Bar is a great place to relax and start the weekend. I recommend this place for anyone who needs a quiet night out with a few drinks. Did I mention they also do $6 pizzas!
