A Hidden Gem in the Avon Valley
If you are looking for a relaxing, nature-based stay that's a short drive from the city - then look no further.
Boshack Outback is a self-sustainable, serene property on the banks of a lake about half an hour from Toodyay and less than 1.5 hours from Perth with a family of geese, oodles of natural wildlife and some beautiful sights to see.
It's the ideal destination for a short stay, but I guarantee you will want to stay longer. Surrounded by the beauty of the lake with its picturesque trees that offer a hint of its history, it can only be described as secluded, tranquil and filled with the best nature has to offer.
Even on hot days, the afternoons are pleasant down near the lake where the kids are able to paddle and fish with nets provided by the friendly staff. Boshack is not just about relaxing though, the staff headed by Derrick (whose family own the entire property, including nearby farm) not only oversees the accommodation but also run amazing eco-tours. There is a focus on educating and providing experiences that really encapsulate the world of the Australian bush.
For accommodation, you can choose from their very swish glamping tent or the new bed and breakfast experience. The Bed and Breakfast provides visitors with the opportunity to experience a real, working farm in the Avon Valley. For tourists and city dwellers alike, this can be a unique and enjoyable experience.
The Glamping tents offer that real feeling of nature and you almost feel like you are sleeping underneath the stars. With the rhythmic sounds of the frogs and other night creatures, you are sure to get one of the best nights sleep ever.
But the eco-tours are the real jewel in the crown of Boshack. Taken through the "magic forest" aka paperbark trees you will find yourself down collecting marron and hearing the stories of these amazing trees.
The horses are definitely a highlight, it's a bit like Jurassic Park but with horses instead! Pulling into a seemingly empty paddock, the horses have a sixth sense about the food on offer and come galloping at breakneck speed. They are certainly familiar with these humans and their treats.
Boshack provides facilities for large groups to relax and chow down after their tours making it a popular venue for school and corporate groups. Catering can be arranged as well as BYO and the dining hall looks out onto the lake so you can keep an eye on the kids while they play or just enjoy the view.
Ideal for large and small groups, Boshack provides the perfect escape from the city. The staff will ensure you feel welcome and looked after and you will take away many beautiful memories. You can find out more about Boshack Outback here.
