Bernemer festival, originally known as Bornheimer Kirchweihfest, is one of the oldest and most traditional Frankfurt festivals and is celebrated since 1608th. The notch will be held on the weekend of the second Sunday in August at the Bornheimer Johanniskirche in Frankfurt near the bell tower popularly known as "Zwiwwelkerch" (onion Church).

Throughout this festival at Upper Straße town, there will be a live music and social activities. After Friday, the notch will be celebrated at Bornheim restaurants. A big procession will take place through the streets of Bornheim and the grand opening of the notch will take place.

Another highlight is the "Bernemer Wednesday", the last Bernemer notch feast. A live music will be played. The Bernemer Wednesday extends from Bornheim Mitte to Falltorstraße and the end of the notch will be known officially.
