You don't have to wait until August to get your fix of showbags, rides and dagwood dogs. The Boonah Show is just one hour from Brisbane. Running between 2nd and 3rd June, this show is not to be missed. With fireworks, woodchopping, horses, cattle, and a demolition derby, there really is something for everyone.
Held at the Boonah show grounds, this country show is worth the drive.
There are plenty of rides and showbags to keep the youngsters and the young at heart amused.
The petting zoo is always popular with its pigs, goats and alpacas, so plan to arrive early.
Don't miss the animals whether it's cattle, horses or poultry. There are a number of events including Prime Cattle judging, Prime Cattle auction and Stud Cattle "Battle of the Sexes". The program is available on the Boonah Show Society's

Hours can be spent exploring the numerous displays including baking, plants and woodwork.
There are also plenty of competitions such as Celebrity Chef competition and the Pet Parade.
The night show program is only available on the Saturday night and consists of monster trucks, fireworks, ute muster and a demolition derby.
Parking is available on the soccer field. Entry is via Elizabeth Terrace, behind the squash courts. There is direct gate access to showgrounds.
Prices vary depending on if you wish to attend on the Friday or Saturday. The show is open 9am - 3pm on the Friday, or 8am to 8pm on the Saturday.
