Bargain buys make Christmas so much easier
Shopping centres are already decorated for the Christmas season, and I swear I heard carols playing whilst loading the trolley on the weekend. I guess that means it's not too long until the jolly fat man in a red suit makes an appearance, which means the need for some organisation on my part.
To this end, I discovered a great retail outlet for stocking fillers. BOOKS etc. in the Stockland Shopping Centre in Cleveland is selling all books for $3.00. That's correct - $3.00 for all books. This includes hardbacks and soft covers and a good range of young children's books. There are recipe books, sporting titles, military history, as well as biographies and novels. There are even some quirky topics covered such as 'making treats for your dogs, and 'how to cook to get your date into bed'.
For $3 a book, you are sure to raise a smile from the most curmudgeonly relatives around the Christmas table. I've purchased puzzle books to occupy little ones over the long, hot summer holidays as well as picture books for posting interstate.
Will this outlet still be operating in the New Year? I have no idea, so take advantage of the inexpensive books now which I am sure will make someone happy this Christmas. And, yes, of course, I found a book for myself.
