Get ready for Children's Book Week October 17-23, 2020
It's that time of the year again, parents/carers: BOOK WEEK. Hosted by the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA), Book Week has been held every year since 1945 to bring children and books together across Australia.

Book Week is usually held during August, but thanks to COVID-19, the CBCA has rescheduled this year's Book Week to October 17-23. Which gives parents and carers plenty of time to work out the all-important Book Week costume! The 2020 Book Week theme is 'Curious Creatures, Wild Minds' which gives you plenty of scope in terms of costume ideas. If you are struggling for ideas, however, then don't worry, here are ten that will hopefully get you thinking!

1. The Cat in the Hat
Undoubtedly Dr Suess' most famous creature, and definitely a Book Week favourite every year. Available from Big W.

2. Harry Potter
Another Book Week favourite! My son's school actually had their Book Week celebration this month and there were Harry Potters and other Hogwarts students in every class. Full costume set available from Big W and Costco.
