Daisy and Kate - Meredith Appleyard


Author Meredith Appleyard was born and raised in a farming community in the Murray Mallee region of rural South Australia and these days calls the Clare Valley her little patch of home. She maintains that her heart will always belong to the country, and it's the small communities and characters she's met over the years that are reflected in the novels she has written, Daisy and Kate. Daisy and Kate is a compelling exploration of the waxing and waning of friendships; how precious they are, and the heartbreak that happens when it all comes undone.

A book signing will follow her talk and her book will be available for sale. Bookings are essential.

Nicholas Jose has published novels, short stories, essays and a memoir. His new novel, The Idealist, is forthcoming from Giramondo in September. He was General Editor of the Macquarie PEN Anthology of Australian Literature (2009) and is Emeritus Professor of English and Creative Writing at The University of Adelaide and Adjunct Professor in the Writing and Society Research Centre, at Western Sydney University. The Rush - Michelle Prak


Join Michelle Prak at Salisbury Community Hub - Little Para Room, 34 Church Street, Salisbury, on Wednesday, 6 September 2023, starting from 10.30 am to 11.30 am as she introduces her thriller book, The Rush. Michelle Prak is a professional communicator with a thirty-year career in corporate communication, social media, politics and journalism. Writing has been the backbone of much of her work and she has written several short stories and self-published commercial women's fiction titles. She lives in Adelaide and lectures in public relations and social media at the University of South Australia.

Missing Pieces - Jennifer Mackenzie Dunbar


Join Jennifer Mackenzie Dunbar on Thursday, 7 September 2023, starting from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm at Marion Cultural Centre - Sturt Room, 287 Diagonal Road, Oaklands Park, as she introduces her book, Missing Pieces.

Missing Pieces is inspired by the 1831 discovery of a hoard of priceless chess pieces on a remote Scottish Island. It tells the story of four women who created and protected the now-famous artefacts. Missing Pieces is a story about women’s determination, passion and cunning and the power of love to right the wrongs of the past.

The Voice to Parliament Handbook - Thomas Mayo


Gain insights into the journey to the call for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament with Thomas Mayo on Friday, 8 September 2023, starting from 1 pm to 2 pm at City of Port Adelaide Enfield Town Hall, 34 Nile Street, Port Adelaide.

Thomas Mayo is a Kaurareg Aboriginal and Kalkalgal, Erubamle Torres Strait Islander man. He is the Assistant National Secretary of the MUA. Thomas is a signatory of the Uluru Statement from the Heart and has been a leading advocate since its inception in May 2017. He is the Chairperson of the Northern Territory Indigenous Labor Network and a director on the Australians for Indigenous Constitutional Recognition board.

Seventy Thousand Camels - Angelica A. Brewer


Author Angelica A Brewer will be visiting the Playford Civic Centre Library, Playford Boulevard, Elizabeth, on Thursday, 14 September 2023, starting from 5.30 pm to 6.30 pm, with the release of her motivational survivors memoir, Seventy Thousand Camels.

Seventy Thousand Camels is about a woman's life navigating the impactful effects of narcissistic abuse, first by her primary caregiver, her obsessive Operatic Soprano mother, and later in life through various romantic and interpersonal relationships, and, in the workforce.

Carol Kretschmer will share her story of how she went from having a debilitating illness that no one understood or had answers for, to a healthy life with a wealth of hard-learned knowledge while she shares her latest book, But You Look So Well!. But You Look So Well! is a story of hope and healing when faced with chronic disease.
