The Book Launch of
Gigsters - Any Age or Ability Employees, Experts and Entrepreneurs by Sue Ellson is to be held on Friday, 17 May 2019 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at the Wheeler Centre in Melbourne.
The evening introduces the concepts of being a "gigster" and provides a friendly environment to meet and mix with current and future gigsters.
So what is a gigster anyway? For those not familiar with the term it basically means undertaking work in a non-traditional form – usually on a task by task basis - hence the work is known as a "gig" (not unlike the way musicians have "gigs"). The task might be anything from driving for Uber, performing tasks for Airtasker, freelancing in whatever profession or area of expertise you might have, writing a book or simply a side hustle undertaken in addition to a day job. The possibilities are endless and while the dictionaries haven't really caught up with 'gigster' as yet
this article gives a good explanation of what the "gig" economy is and how it works.
On the night books will be available to purchase at RRP $24.99 and personalised signing by the author.
Would this book and event be relevant for you? To quote the organisers:
**Gigsters shows you how you can be your own kind of multi-dimensional peculiar, starting today! This book is for you if you are considering:
Freelance, fractional or contingent work; a side hustle, new career, special hobby; self-employment, becoming a solopreneur; sole practitioner, consultant or independent contractor; developing a startup business, passive income, asset development model; becoming a founder of a social enterprise or a world revolution; reinventing the way you work both today and tomorrow.**
The author of
Gigsters, Sue Ellson BBus MIML MAHRI CDAA MPC ASA WV, is a career development practitioner and has a background in training, recruitment, career development, human resources, marketing, networking, online publishing, social media and business.
