Old/Collectable books at half price
Get your teeth into the old/collectables. This is your chance to pick up many valuable books and what may be otherwise unremarkable books, which are old, maybe, printed 50 to 100 years ago. Indulge in a treasure hunt and pick up books you might not normally buy or find elsewhere. How often have you wanted to take home unique books from a bookshop, but it was just too expensive? Well, know is your chance.
All non-fiction books are half price
With the immense choice available, you will have no trouble getting the facts.
The urge to flip through the sheer number of books, in anticipation of what may turn up can become addictive, so free parking and public toilets are conveniently located.
A word to the wise
With
several thousand books donated by the
State Library of Western Australia each week, the choice is almost endless at
Book Bazaar. However, if you spot that treasure, grab it. This
unique bookshop has
no rain checks or
sourcing an extra copy from the supplier.
The State Library's operations fall into three main areas – collecting and preserving Western Australia's documentary heritage, general reference and public lending library services, and supporting the public library network in Western Australia.
Just imagine the diversity of good quality and unique books that a bookshop bound by commercial considerations would find hard to match. Simply because you never know what you may find, perfect for the eclectic reader. Yes, you will even find a dictionary or two.
Friendly volunteers to assist you
Volunteers who assist the Book Bazaar Supervisor, Elke Schaumann staff the sales.
If you become overwhelmed with the number of books and need help, just ask. There is a double bonus shopping at Book Bazaar; as you find the book (or books) of your choice, you help disabled persons.
