Fri 17 Feb 2017 - Sat 18 Feb 2017

You have just two days to 'seize' some great bargains on all books (including Old/Collectables), DVDs and talking books. Friday, February 17 from 9.00am to 7.00pm and Saturday, February 18 from 9.00am to 5.00pm.

How often have you wished you could take home a bag of books from a bookshop, but it was just too expensive? This is your chance; I doubt you would find another place displaying so many quality books with such a multitude of titles.

More than 100,000 books are on display in this unique bookshop, refreshed each week with a donation of several thousand books, by the State Library of Western Australia . Profit from the vast bonanza of excellent quality, and unique books from Book Bazaar, something many bookshops bound by commercial considerations would find hard to cover.

This immense bookshop is a real book lover's bonanza, making the hunt for that elusive treasure, irresistible. The main sections and categories are clearly marked, but with so many books to flip through, who knows what you may uncover.

Fill a bag for $20

Stock is constantly refreshed with DVDs, talking books, large print, languages other than English, children's, young adults, etc., just fill a bag with your selection for $20 (not applicable to Old/Collectables).

Old/Collectables, 50% off the marked price

Take advantage of this rare chance to choose from many valuable books, and otherwise ordinary books, which are old, maybe, printed 50 to 100 years ago. Many books you might not normally find elsewhere, let alone at half the marked price.

Do not rush …

Held in air-conditioned comfort (dry in the wet and cool in the heat) with toilet and bathroom facilities available. Not to mention a café on site (open on Friday only to 3.00pm), where you can regain your strength in readiness for another round of browsing.

Ample FREE parking, with all facilities wheel-chair friendly, ensures easy and hassle free access. No city street parking or meters to worry about, so feel free to browse as long as you like.

However …

Browse as long as you wish, but if you spot that treasure, seize it with both hands. There are no rain checks or sourcing an extra copy from the supplier, from this distinctive bookshop.

Don't forget …

Friendly volunteers who assist the Book Bazaar Supervisor, Elke Schaumann are available to guide you. With such a large collection of books, it can get confusing, I find that someone to point the way is an absolute necessity. If you have thought of becoming a volunteer, drop an email to: [email protected] or call 9381 0193.

Banners point the way to Book Bazaar

Arriving at 10 Selby Street, Shenton Park, turn off into a little (privately owned, by Spine & Limb Foundation) road called Ellis Griffiths Avenue. The ParaQuad building is about 300m along Ellis Griffiths Avenue.

Large banners placed out on Selby Street for a week before the event ensure even the casual driver will not miss the turn-off.
