Welcome everyone this is Booderee National Park.

is located within Boderee National Park and are the only Aboriginal owned botanic gardens in Australia. The gardens showcase many coastal plant species including those used for food and in medicine by Aboriginal communities.

The Gardens cover 80 hectares of Booderee National Park and include a unique setting of cultivated areas surrounded by natural bushland, visitors will often encounter "wild" Kangaroos which act friendly and will allow quite close contact, the park displays "do not feed" signs in prominent places.

Well formed paths have been created providing easy access through cultivated areas including the rainforest walk and heath forest. Paths have been designed to be wheelchair and stroller friendly.

The gardens have lots of well maintained grass lawns with picnic tables, electric BBQs and a sheltered picnic area which are all ideal for large groups or wet weather use. Bird watching is a popular activity, Booderee is home to the endangered Eastern Bristlebird.

Development of the site as a botanic gardens started in 1951, The local Koori community at Wreck Bay successfully acquired the ownership of the gardens, and the park in 1995.
The Gardens are now jointly managed by the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community and National Parks and Wildlife. Koori led educational tours are available during NSW school holidays, and also upon request (depending on staff availability). Spotlight tours are very popular.

Special events such as weddings and other public gatherings can be hosted within the park, the area is also often used for commercial photography and film but permits are required .
