The most interesting and fun place for kids to go trick or treating this Halloween will be at the Adelaide Zoo for the popular Boo at the Zoo Halloween celebrations.
Discover the creepy, crawly side of the zoo and find out what roars, hisses, growls and goes bump in the night. Boo at the Zoo is your chance to celebrate Halloween and offers the unique opportunity to experience the zoo after hours.
Dance the night away at the Little Monster's Ball, a spooky disco hosted by the Amazing Magic Mike and Incredible Miss Tricky, which starts at 5 pm. Magic Mike (nothing to do with the 2012 Steven Soderbergh film) is Adelaide's master magician and Miss Tricky is his talented assistant. They perform their popular magic show at birthday parties, schools, theatres and shopping centres all around South Australia and will bring magic and mystery to Boo at the Zoo.
Be sure to wear your best Halloween or animal costume as there will be a children's costume parade with awards for the best and most creatively dressed. There will also be trick or treat trails, craft activities, giveaways, face painting and lots of frightful fun for the whole family.
The zoo's resident animals won't miss out on the festivities either as there will be special Halloween themed animal enrichment presentations for them to enjoy. Watch the lions tear into a treat, the meerkats scamper around a haunted pumpkin patch and the orang-utans play with a jack-o-lantern.
Boo at the Zoo is happening on Thursday, October 31, 2013 from 4 pm until 8 pm. Please note that the zoo will close earlier than usual on this day at 3.30 pm for party preparations before reopening for this special ticketed event.
