My happy place is always at the jetty at Bongaree on Bribie Is. It really does not matter what time of the day I visit, I always feel happy and relaxed. But sunset is by far the best time.

Close by there is a large selection of eateries, so visitors are very spoilt for choice. But nothing beats fish and chips and a bottle of wine picnic and watching the sun go down.

The jetty has been there for many years, however, recently it had a much-needed facelift. It's a favourite spot for young children to jump off at high tide and for fishing enthusiasts. With its calm shallow water, it's a very safe place for children to splash around in the water.

Nearby there is one of the many public BBQs dotted along for the foreshore and several picnic tables. However, in the evening, it's best not to sit under the several big trees that provide welcome shade on hot days. Hundreds of local birds spend the night in these trees, so even parking in the carpark can be risky in the evenings. They provide a lot of unwelcome mess and a lot of noise.

All along the foreshore is a lovely walking/bike riding path. This provides a safe and scenic place to take a short stroll or a good long walk or bike ride. Bribie has more than its share of mobility scooter users; they also like to use this path.
