Bondi Winter Magic Festival is back again for another season.

Enticing people to Bondi during winter and beyond, the festival, run by Waverley Council, features a wide range of events from theatre to street art, music, markets and history walks. In addition, the festival includes iconic and highly popular Australian events including the Festival of the Winds, City to Surf Fun Run and Sculpture by the Sea.

Score one of the discounts on offer from local business giving further enticement to visit Bondi over the winter season.

Events during Bondi Winter Magic Festival

Features the appearance of Venus the life-size inflatable humpback whale, guided whale watching tours (bookings required - phone 9300 0242 and competitions for kids).

Music, stalls, kids' entertainment, cultural and craft activities.

Date: Sunday 7 July, 10am–3pm
Location: Bondi park

Enjoy Bondi History Walks throughout July as part of the Bondi Winter Magic program.

Led by 'Mr Bondi', this walking tour explores Bondi's bohemian past. Bookings are essential. email for information and bookings.

Grab some stylish Bondi clothes.
Taking part requires you to bring 6 quality pieces of clothing to swap.

Location: Bondi Bathers' Surf Life Saving Club, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Bondi Beach

Independent theatre company, Tamarama Rock Surfers showcase entertainment including 'The Removalists', 'Robots vs Art'.

Also performing at Bondi Pavilion Theatre is 'Bondi Feast' - a festival of theatre, comedy, music and mulled wine.

Purchase direct from the grower. On offer are fresh seasonal fruit & veg, organically grown meat & poultry, flowers, artisan breads, homemade jams, farm-fresh cheeses, seafood, olive oils, herbs, spices and so on.

Check out the street art of local painters and photographers or be inspired to 'chalk' up your own masterpiece.

Enjoy buskers performing on the streets of Bondi in this celebration of music and community. Or participate. Waverley Council is currently looking for over 250 buskers of all kinds to register. To register click on this link.

Location: All around Bondi

The 14km City to Surf Fun Run, involving thousands of runners, starts in the centre of Sydney and finishes at Bondi beach. Participate or go soak up the vibe of one of the world's largest fun runs.

This magical kite flying festival makes for a great family day out in an iconic setting. Come see all kinds of kites from cartoon characters to giant animals, fighter kites, box kites and more. Or, bring your own.

The scenic Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk becomes a display zone for over 100 sculptures by artists from Australia and across the world.

Other things to do in Bondi

Explore Bondi's cafe culture, food and bar scene and the fashion strip of Gould street. Get some fresh air, exercise and coastal scenery on the walk from Bondi Beach to Bronte or don a wetsuit and hit the waves.

Alternatively, explore the creative side of Bondi and Aboriginal art at the Bondi Pavilion Gallery.

Experience the sea life of Bondi without getting wet at the Marine Discovery Centre. Combining real-life fish in acquaria and audio-visual displays, the experience is open to the public Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4.30pm.

Getting to Bondi and Getting Around

Bondi Beach is 7km from Sydney CBD and takes about 20 minutes drive by car or cab, however the best way to access Bondi is by train and bus. Parking is extremely difficult in the area.
