Balcony Dining at Its Best
With the winning combination of killer views, great food and cocktails, Bondi Social is a bustling, long time local bar and restaurant located on the southern end of the iconic Bondi Beach.
It's easy to miss this beachside beauty, which is set back away from the main restaurant radius of Bondi.
On street level all you see is the doorway in the foyer of the Cairo Mansions building, which leads to the unsuspecting elevator which takes you up to the restaurant. However, if you tilt your head upwards from street level, you'll find one of the busiest balconies on the street, and there is a good reason for this.
Towering over Campbell Parade with some of the best uninterrupted views of Bondi that can be found, Bondi Social is everything you expect it to be – stylish, yet beachy and relaxed.
Patrons can be wowed by the spectacular beach views from the restaurant, and enjoy the great cocktails, and tapas style menu on offer.
If you are lucky enough to score a seat outside on the verandah for some balcony dining, you can admire the breathtaking beach views with a bird's eye view away from the chaos and crowds, top up your sun tan, and do a spot of people watching. But, on a sunny summer's day, be prepared to battle for this prime location which as you would imagine, fills up fast.
The interior consists of polished hardwood, with warm splashes of colour throughout, creating a casual and sophisticated feel, which is stylish, yet unpretentious.
The menu offers a Modern Australian menu with plates designed to share and is reasonably priced, making it a great place to sample a range of dishes and the perfect place to catch up with friends, and wow interstate or overseas visitors.
It is also a great venue for functions, and the functions menu is impressive as well. The seafood platters offer a great selection for tables to share. The soft shell crab, smoked salmon and octopus and prawns are all tasty, and there is something nice about eating seafood while overlooking the beach.
Desserts are also amazing, including the Frangelico and Vanilla Panna Cotta served smashed almond biscotti and a mulberry and mint salad; and the Rich Double Chocolate Torte with Chantilly cream and a berry salad which is delectable.
