It was on the cards for a while, but on air every Sunday night at 6:30pm, Channel 10 brings Aussie audiences an all new season of Bondi Rescue. Finally, the long wait is over!

With Season 8 up and running in our own homes, the boys in blue will be out and about on the shores of Bondi doing what they do best – monitoring the beach and saving lives.

But it doesn't end there for Bondi's lifeguards; they've got their occasional thieves on the prowl, broken bones and special cases to attend to, tourists with poor English and swimming ability, sharks lurking in the water, overdoses, brawls that could break out anywhere and anytime, regular blue bottle repercussions and missing children to track.

For those of you unfamiliar with Bondi Rescue, it is a half hour reality television show filmed on Bondi Beach – Sydney's most renowned playground for local and international beachgoers. But it isn't all fun and play for the boys in blue. From sunrise to sundown, the guards are hard at work whether from their office on the beach, in the water or on the sand. A first-hand perspective into the nature of the job that is widely believed to be a glamorous one is depicted during the weekly shows. With 2.5 million people visiting Bondi each year, it is primarily famed for its topless sunbaking, swimming, great surf along with its activities both ashore and on the Pavilion.

Bondi Rescue offers viewers a huge taste of what life is like working on the beach. Bondi itself is beautiful but throw some very happy-go-lucky beachgoers in the mix under the influence of something far more dangerous, a lifeguarding job can turn from beautiful to fairly tragic in a heartbeat.

Apart from the stories told and the personal insights shared; what keeps me intrigued in the show is the boy's light-hearted approach to almost everything. From personal pranks to humorous encounters along the beach; the boys take everything in their stride with an unbelievably good-natured mind-set to boot.

Tune in to Ten every Sunday night at 6:30pm for a show that will have you chuckling away relentlessly, heart racing and adrenaline pumping. Life on the beach is really not what it's all made out to be as you will soon see so to make these boy's job just a tad bit easier; be sure to keep between the red flags, slap on that sunblock and take care.
