Hot Sydney summer evenings are just made for kicking back and chilling out with some lazy entertainment. And so much the better if your entertainment comes in a package that includes dark skies sprinkled with shimmering stars, the lap of the waves and the fresh smell of an ocean breeze. That's exactly what you'll get with 2013 summer edition of Ben and Jerry's Openair Cinema at Bondi , screening from 25 January to 3 March 2013.

Video may well have "killed the radio star" but doomsayer predictions of the early demise of the big screen because of increasing online entertainment remain thankfully unfulfilled. Al fresco evening summer cinema is 'hot stuff' around the country with crowds flocking to see new releases and movie classics in the great outdoors. If the weather's good it can certainly add to the whole cinematic experience, and Bondi, which is host to a number of film festivals, holds a special place in the hearts of Sydney cinephiles.

Films
The festival opens on Friday 25 January with the heartwarming indie favourite, Moonrise Kingdom, and closes on Sunday 3 March with the powerful boxing Day Tsunami survival story, The Impossible. In between there's everything from Russell Crowe and Anne Hathaway singing in Les Miserables to the latest from Quentin Tarantino, Django Unchained. Kids will love Wreck it Ralph and nostalgics will be catered for with Raiders of the Lost Ark, Mad Max and Top Gun. You can see the full program here .
