The Event Series at Bond University is absolutely worth keeping track of for anyone that loves fun events, and more importantly loves free events. They have a great mix of the fun, the academic, the relaxing and the interesting.



They host a variety of fabulous events throughout the year including fashion shows, live music, markets, graduate events, symposiums, lecturers, exhibitions, demonstrations, information evenings, animal expos and open days to name a few.

They have a large outdoor amphitheatre where they host a number of live music events usually over the weekend, with loads of well-known bands and singers. Their Live at Bond series is usually the last Sunday of the month and totally worth a visit. Always popular with the local community, many people bring a picnic, deck chairs and blankets, drinks and games and soak up the wonderful atmosphere and enjoy an afternoon of free live entertainment.

For the kids there are always loads on to keep them entertained from bouncy castles, arts and craft, rides, animal encounters, face painting, climbing walls and much more.

I have been to a number of these events and they are always free, always very well run with loads of entertainment for both adults and kids of all different tastes and ages. The University grounds are really spaced out so you can be watching live music and be completely unaware of the huge fashion market or the kids play area just around the corner.

Plus you get to experience whatever the event is in a wonderful traditional University setting with stunning views across lake Orr. It really is gorgeous.



Oh, and I have never come away empty handed at a Bond Event, they have so many competitions and free giveaways. I came away from the open day with 4 free coffees, a water bottle, a plant, discount tickets, a pencil case and tote bag. All for free!

The most recent event I attended was Bond by the Lake, a twenties themed day out for all the family which had a clothing market, live jazz all afternoon, street performers, vintage clothing, drinks and BBQ and a host of things for the kids.

Based in the very cute Varsity Lakes, you also have a number of coffee shops, bars and restaurant close by. Plus as Bond Uni is a major destination there are a number of buses that stop at Bond Uni on their way to and from the coast, so it's pretty easy to get to.
