A beach 'so nice they named it twice'. This beach in the suburb of Bonbeach may be a pronunciation nightmare - 'Bonbeach Beach' - but however you say it its a fabulous stretch of sea and sand.

It's not news Melbourne is abundant with wonderful beaches on its south side from the CBD all the way to Frankston and beyond; but Bonbeach is undoubtedly unmissable even if other beaches may at first win more beachgoers on the weekend.

This means for those just seeking to have a relaxed afternoon or weekend at the beach then forgoing a visit elsewhere and setting your sights for Bonbeach will leave you very happy.

While the beach may be lesser-known among many in Melbourne, it is nonetheless magnificent. When a bright sun is over the sky, and the water is blue and clear, there are few spots that can beat Bonbeach in the city and its surrounds.

And, for those who love a bit of sport while at the beach, Bonbeach is often the ideal spot to bring a frisbee or football for a bit of use without worrying about getting in the way of too many other beachgoers.

For those who feel taking in the crowd and the atmosphere is what makes a trip to the beach so great, then a visit to nearby Chelsea, Mordialloc, or Frankston Beach may be fit your feeling. For those who seek a quieter spot to stop for a swim, though, Bonbeach is bliss.
