Bollygum Adventure Park in Kinglake is a captivating new playground with great facilities, set amongst towering timbers.

Mountain Ash trees frame a great new adventure playground in Kinglake

Surrounded by Mountain Ash and well-equipped with BBQs, shaded areas, and public toilets, Bollygum Park provides a wide range of activities for kids of all ages.

With a structure based on the beloved Australian children's book, 'Bollygum' by Garry Fleming, the park links the native animal characters in the book to the animals that abound in the local area with beauty and creativity.

Of course, none of this matters to the kids who run around and play on the ropes course, the rope and pipe bridges, the curly slides, the swings, the hidden nooks and crannies, the crazy mirrors, the lovely Bower Bird nest, the musical instruments, the cubby house, and more.

Rather, it's something for parents to appreciate as they wait for the sausages to crisp on the BBQs, or rest on the lovely seating made from local timbers, or laze on the grassed areas trying not to fall asleep in the sun.

For children that may feel a little too old for a playground, there is also a terrific skate park that has been incorporated as part of the facility.

All of this is literally five minutes walk from the centre of Kinglake, so you can meander into town after a play and enjoy lunch in the Kinglake Hotel's leafy beer-garden, or a coffee at Cafe M or the Kinglake Bakery/Cafe.
