A modern industrial space in a historic setting, the
provides fine dining for people visiting
Q Station .
The
menu is not large but is supplemented by daily specials and changes regularly to take account the availability of fresh produce. There should be something to satisfy most diners and the kitchen are happy to serve some of the entrees as mains such as scallops and duck breast. The duck which I had as a main was tasty and served with a fresh salad containing nectarines and my cousin really enjoyed the scallops. My duck breast was a little tough but had a great flavour as did the accompanying sauce.
The dining space is up a flight of stairs overlooking the spotless and busy kitchen with well-spaced tables That provided privacy and for groups as well as couples. The alcohol prices are quite reasonable and the staff were friendly and helpful.
The pork chop was perfectly cooked and well complemented with red cabbage and apple, the witlof leaf was unnecessary though.
A few of our group had the crispy skin barramundi and it was pronounced the dish of the night. Our party of eleven had a very enjoyable evening and a few of us even braved the 400 odd stairs up to where our accommodation was situated rather than take the shuttle bus.
Special meal deals, such as the
Sunday Long Lunch and
Mother's Day Long Lunch , are excellent value considering the cost of their main meals.
Alfresco lunchtime dining at The Boilerhouse would be a wonderful experience making the most of its beachfront location.
