serves up modern Taiwanese cuisine in the heart of Bowden. The eatery has a very welcoming feel as large, floor-to-ceiling windows allow natural sunlight to fill the room. There's plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, and the long communal table cater for group bookings.
This was the pot pie, which involved a slowed cooked beef ragu with mixed vegetables and wild mushrooms, topped with a puff pastry crust and toasted sourdough slices to mop up the sauce. Note that we visited before they revamped their menu, so most of these items are now available in a different variation.
This was a play on chicken and waffles, featuring Taiwanese fried chicken, bacon, mashed potato, a poached egg and citrus maple glaze. Can we also appreciate that they've cut the waffles diagonally because it's both the right way and the most aesthetic way!
To top off the savoury options, there was a steamed bao bun stuffed with free range pork patty, fried egg and tomato sauce. Bao buns are a staple of Taiwanese street food and make an excellent entree because of their share-friendly size and being flavour bombs. They're still available on their new menu in more traditional flavours such as braised pork belly and crumbed tofu.
We ended with a delightful dessert composed of toasted brioche and almonds, vanilla ice cream, toasted and salted caramel sauce. This was so good I could have had the entire plate to myself!
Are you vegetarian or vegan and hate going out with your non-dietary restricted friends because of menu restrictions? Fear not because you have options here! A whole section of their menu is dedication to non-meat options and they'll even offer modified version of their regular dishes, so you don't miss out on Taiwanese classics like sticky brown rice, Taiwanese sausage with shitake mushroom.
