There are three Boathouse restaurants in Sydney. The newest is The Boathouse Shelly Beach. It is a lovely restaurant in a very pretty setting and the food is good too.
The other two are at Palm Beach and Balmoral. They all have water views. Two were original marinas and The Boathouse Shelly Beach was originally a well known restaurant called The Le Kiosk.

There are beautiful floral displays around the restaurant and the landscape is striking. The makeover of the site is stunning.

I have been a few times now to The Boathouse Shelly Beach and loved it. I went last Thursday and my friend and I shared a couple of dishes; the food was delicious.

The Boathouse Salad was $18 with Salmon $26

Winter salad $19 with the duck $27
These two salads were very tasty. The vegetables were warm with wonderful different varieties of carrots. The serving of warm duck was generous and succulent.

The lunch menu at The Boathouse Shelly Beach
Lunch even through the week is very busy. There is an attractive courtyard which looks straight out onto Shelly Beach. The landscape all around is very green and lush. The garden takes advantage of the natural bush setting that surrounds it.

We also had a serving of the Boathouse chips which were tasty crunchy and served very hot.

We were surprised when a member of staff sent over a delicious caramel slice for dessert, compliments of the house. It was large enough to share, which we did with our coffee.
On my first occasion of going there, I had another nice experience of generosity from the staff. I accidentally spilt over my glass of wine. As soon as this happened a friendly waiter was at my side, cleaning up my spilt wine and refilling my glass. If they display such polite generous service to all customers their business will thrive.

The Boathouse Shelly Beach is in a prime position with easy access. To get there on foot you can take a walk from Manly around to Fairy Bower and on to Shelly Beach. This walk is one of the prettiest in Sydney.
Also you can drive around Bower St Manly to a convenient carpark which is situated above Shelly Beach. This car park has fabulous views overlooking the northern beaches.

The function room, offering Beach Manly
There is a lovely function room upstairs above the restaurant which is perfect for weddings. There is a mirror showing a reflection of the beach which you can also see from the balcony.

I also went to an unexpected brunch at The Boathouse Shelly Beach so I thought I would add these innovative dishes that my friend and I had on this occasion. I choose poached eggs on hash browns. This was served with brisket and baby beetroot. The brisket was something really different, it was delicious and a good alternative to bacon.

My friend choose poached eggs with bacon and grilled tomato.
Of course this is a favourite with many people for that special brunch. The serving was generous and the eggs cooked to perfection.
