Recently I dined at at Cracker Jack Waterfront Cafe , I've been there twice now and really enjoyed the experience and the food, so I signed up to claim a free $30.00 dining voucher that I could use next time I visited.

When I received my voucher by email I discovered that it could be used at either Cracker Jack Waterfront Cafe or its sibling restaurant, The Boathouse in Frankston. Encouraged by the discount I made my way down to Frankston.

I wasn't at all disappointed; the food was delightful, the staff delivered great service in spite of being very busy, and I found the venue a hidden oasis for fine food and dining.

The restaurant has been on Nepean Hwy for some time sitting behind the Brialyn Boathouse Gallery. I must have driven past both for years without realising that they were there.

Since it was daylight savings it was light when we arrived, so after we ordered our dinner we took our glasses of wine and wandered around the restaurant's al fresco dining area in gardens out the back, on the banks of the Kannanook Creek while we waited. I found it truly magical

If you haven't been, you owe it to yourself to go. Perhaps you're heading back from a day trip on the Morning Peninsula and on the way home or perhaps you're a local - this is definitely one place that you should put on your to do list.

My dining partner had Duo of Spring Lamb which was a small braised lamb pie and a two point roasted cutlet on white bean puree, with marinated artichokes, buttered kipfler potatoes and an orange jus. And yes, I did lean across the table and have a taste - I couldn't resist!

Comments on the menu - fine dining, and there's something for everyone including a kids menu.
Booking - After talking to waitress, I found out it gets very busy, so if your coming down for the day to see the beach or for a drive you might want to book to ensure that you get a table. It's open for both lunch and dinner
Getting there -
Without a car - about a 40 minute walk from Frankston station, or you could catch a taxi from the station.
With a car- there's parking on site and plenty of street parking. I was drove from the city to the restaurant and discovered that you can't turn right into the carpark; you must go past it and then do a u turn - thank goodness for Google maps or I would still be looking!
Disabled Access Assessment
Ramp access - to the first mezzanine level of the restaurant, but to the next level down or to the gardens outside as far as I could see.
Aisle access/width (1 metre) to allow ease of movement - good.
Proximity to to disabled parking - just out the front, and very close.

And for those who need a visual, perhaps this will inspire you to go.
