On a sunny autumn afternoon, this was a great spot to meet up with friends and enjoy a delicious and affordable seafood lunch. The bright and colourful Boat Shed offers outside seating at shaded tables and chairs. Being in an elevated position, customers can enjoy an impressive view across the bay to Moreton Island whilst dining.
This little business is obviously very popular as at 1.30pm they were still doing a roaring trade. Despite a bunch of hungry customers, service here was pretty quick and when the food arrived it looked and tasted sensational. Generous serves of great quality seafood (golden brown and cooked in a light, crispy tempura batter) certainly ticked both the quality and quantity boxes.

For $39.50 we enjoyed a Seafood Combo Box for Two - a basketful of prawns, scallops, fish, mussels, calamari, crunchy chips and deep fried, shaved sweet potato. For two people this was perfect and for those looking for an accompanying salad, these were made fresh to order for a little extra cost.
And that's not all! The Boat Shed is BYO, with no corkage charged. On a busy day, you may need to find a seat in the park across the road and if that's the case, staff will walk your meal across to you.

If only The Boat Shed sold ice creams the experience would have been perfect! A short and much needed walk just down the street saw us buying our ice creams before returning to the real world with very contented tummies.
Scarborough is a 45 minute drive from Brisbane. Parking is available on street and there is a small car park at the rear of the The Boat Shed. This is a lovely way to enjoy the beautiful weather that has finally arrived, so plan a trip to the peninsula and enjoy a great seafood meal at The Boat Shed.
