This February 22nd, toss away your work or school clothes, and wear boardies instead! No matter whether you're young or old, supporting Boardies Day is one way to protect our beaches and keep summer safe.
Since 1907, surf lifesavers have been volunteering their time to provide an important service around Australia. Every year, this service performs more than 12,000 rescues, and nearly 300,000 preventative actions. However, it costs $850 to train a lifesaver, not to mention the cost of gear, and first aid supplies, so even though the service is an integral one, it is also quite expensive. Supporting the work of the volunteer lifesavers means that the beach can be properly enjoyed, and that families will not be torn apart because of a fun day in the sun gone wrong.
So what are you waiting for? Registration can be done online, and you can start fundraising before the 22nd. Get your mates involved, get your family involved, and get your workmates involved.
