I'm an Australian living in Thailand. I like to read, write and travel. I'm currently working on my (commercial) travel website to make more moolah for my trips.

Boambee, Australia is known for its breathtaking views and perfect weather for a location that boasts spectacular scenery right on the water. The purpose of my trip was to relax and unwind for an escape that would allow me to forget about my work life and responsibilities. Boambee proved to be the perfect spot for a peaceful oasis that included days spent poolside while listening to the birds chirp.

After flying in to Coffs Harbour Airport, my wife and I were surprised to find that our hotel was a short 15-minute drive. When we arrived at the Boambee Palms, I was pleased to find that the decor was modern and comfortable in our spacious room. I knew it would be the perfect place to call home in the following days for a location that was surrounded by a lush environment.

Coffs Airport

During the day in Boambee, I wasn't shy from taking a dip in the saltwater pool or trying my hand at a game of tennis. I was also able to head down to the Boambee Creek and partake in both canoeing and fishing. The crystal clear water of the creek was spectacular and enhanced the overall experience of enjoying the great outdoors in the region. When I needed a bit of exercise, I was able to hike various trails and even meet a few other tourists who were exploring the area. My husband was able to escape for a round of golf down the street at Bonville International Golf Resort, as he later reported to enjoying the incredible views in such cool weather.

I was pleasantly surprised by how close Boambee Palms was to the beach, which allowed me to take a walk down to the water with a good book and a beach towel. I enjoyed spotting a number of different species of birds along the way and even enjoyed getting lost in some of the brush, making for a small adventure.

At night, we were able to drive just a few minutes away to Main Street and dine at several quaint cafes and restaurants. The low-key tone of the street made for an intimate and quiet evening.

Perhaps it was the elevated region that I was able to vacation in, or perhaps the quiet surroundings, but my trip in Boambee proved to be invaluable for the rejuvenation I was able to experience at such a remote location on the northern coast of New South Wales.
