Wait a minute, a bar and a cafe?
Yes, you read right! Blvd is a cafe by day and a bar by night - now how many of these eateries do you see around? Blvd operates as a cafe seven days of the week, but also doubles up as a bar on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights, quenching (alcohol) thirsts till 10pm each night.
Blvd Bar & Cafe is located in North Lakes, approximately 25km north of Brisbane's central business district. Fun Fact - North Lakes was originally a part of neighbouring suburb Mango Hill, but it was gazetted as a separate suburb in 2006 by the Department of Natural Resources, Mines, and Water. Despite being under an hour's drive from Brisbane City, Blvd Bar & Cafe is far enough removed for customers to feel as though they can put the hustle and bustle of their regular working life down, and truly relax.
There is both indoor and outdoor seating available at Blvd Bar & Cafe, with an array of bar table and chairs available, in addition to their traditional counterparts. With the soothing sound of running water due to several small fountains located adjacent to one of the outdoor bar tables, coupled with a relaxed and casual vibe, Blvd Bar & Cafe is definitely a great place to enjoy a meal (or a drink!) with close friends and family.
Dogs are most welcome here at Blvd Bar & Cafe, provided they opt for the outdoor seating with their owners! Doggy patrons will be provided with their own water bowl, and possibly served with a few pats or cuddles here and there. Blvd welcomes dogs to their cafe to the extent that they've made an Instagram page with the sole purpose of documenting the cute canines that have visited! Check them out at @dogsatblvd - can you spot Eddy and Sam?
What food and drink is available at Blvd Bar & Cafe?
Blvd Bar & Cafe have two menus - one for breakfast (served from 7am till 11am) and one for lunch and dinner (served from 11am till 10pm). The breakfast items include a range of toasts (such as roast pumpkin toast and sunflower toast - yum!), breakfast burgers (can you think of anything better?), and even Belgium waffles, served with vanilla ice cream, maple syrup, and blueberries. For lunch and dinner, there are a range of amazing burgers (cannot recommend the cheeseburger enough!!), house salad, and a range of food items to share including sweet potato fries, beer battered fries, nachos, and even a bread board.
Drinks wise; there is, of course, coffee available here at Blvd Bar & Cafe - their signature espresso blend is based around Central American coffees, which offer complexity and depth with a sweet, caramel finish. Blvd also offers milk alternatives from the MILKLAB range of products - soy, almond, coconut, and lactose free. Their single origins change weekly, so if you're interested, do "ask our good looking baristas what we are running today"! Other hot drinks include Koko Deluxe Hot Chocolate (sourced from West Africa), Prana Chai (handmade and blended in Melbourne), and tea. If you're after something cold, choose from a range of juices, sodas, and teas, or opt for a milkshake, an iced coffee or a house made cold press. The options are endless!
Doubling up as a bar by night, the alcoholic beverage options are equally extensive... choose from tap beer (seasonal beers from ALL INN BREWING CO.), Blvd's range of their favourite beers and ciders in the fridge, a selection of cocktails (including 'On Wednesdays We Wear Pink'), or the classic glass of wine (please check separate wine menu for current stock). If you're after something stronger, there is also a variety of spirits, mixers, and scotch available.
Lots and lots of drinks to choose from, including beer on tap.
