The Blues Music Festival rides into Melbourne with a fantastic all-star lineup on Sunday 20 October 2019 from 11am to 7pm at Federation Square, Cnr Swanston and Flinders Streets, Melbourne and it's all FREE.
Presented by Wonderland Spiegeltent, it's housed in a new location - the grounds of The Paddock at Fed Sq in the heart of the city. Continuous music, multiple stages, food trucks, carny rides and the wonderful Coopers Garden are on the cards.
Rebranded as Blues Music Fest Melbourne so the event can grow into the future, the city location makes for easy access by public transport. The fantastic lineup for the day includes Jimi Hocking's Blues Machine, Blue Sunday, Rod Paine & The Full Time Lovers, Dreamboogie, The McNamarr Project, T.K. Reeve, John Williams Doubleshot Of Blues, Victor Cripes, Julian James, Paulie Bignell & The Thornbury Two, Wayne Jury & Iseula, Justin Yap & Rambal, Isiah B Brunt and the Melbourne & Sydney Youth In Blues. Take note that the lineup is subject to change.
One of the highlights at this years festival is Jimi Hocking aka Jimi the human. His banter, story telling wailing guitar and superb songwriting makes him one to watch at the fest. Julian James needs little introduction for the fans. If you have a deep love for the Deep South all laced with references of love, loss and debauchery, he's your man. Upbeat, lo-fi, dirty rotten blues describes Victor Cripes perfectly. This is just a taste of the few of the all Australian band lineup at this FREE family friendly event. Don't miss it!
