I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

Blues Brews and BBQ for great beer and food in a suburban Sydney shopping centre. Originally known as 'Gotties' and brewing at 'The Underground' since 2011 the friendly owners welcome you to step inside the unassuming facade for a fun night full of tasty treats.

The meats and pizzas are all cooked onsite in the wood fired oven and there is a range of interesting craft beers brewed on the premises. If you sit in the comfortable cozy bar area you can see the brewing vessels and be entertained by the beer memorabilia. Wines, spirits, ciders, soft drinks and frozen cocktails are also available.

Our group of six adults shared bruschetta and chili poppers for entree. These two salty, savoury dishes went well with a pint of hand crafted beer. We then decided to order mains from both the menu and the specials board. The Texan brisket was juicy, full of flavour, and 'falling off the bone' tender. The accompanying fire roasted root vegetables were perfectly cooked and the bread roll helped to mop up the delicious smoky sauce.

The
menu is complemented with daily blackboard specials, such as the seafood board for $32.90. It was a generous mix of tasty prawns and salt & pepper calamari, as well as fish fillets, chips and salad. All of the elements were well cooked and seasoned to my taste. Southern fried chicken for $23.90 and pork ribs were also enjoyed by our party. We were too full to eat any more so I am not sure what is available for dessert.
