Just off the main road, over a river, at the end of the road nestled at the base of a hill in picturesque Dumbalk, you will find run by Shaz and Rob.

I parked the car next to an unimposing building that had a mural of eucalyptus flowers painted on the side and made my way inside to be greeted by Shaz. Inside there was a welcoming cafe with honey with distinctive flavours and honey related products on display.

is a real delight, not only in its location but the homemade conserves made from fruit grown on their farm, cafe treats and of course honey. While I was enjoying my Devonshire tea, with homemade blackberry jam, families arrived who had been there the previous day to enjoy another serving of homemade ice cream and milkshakes.

Inside the cafe, there is a small live bee display which is safely behind glass.

The range of honey available reflect the area's hues of the local landscape and would be an ideal gift for someone or memory of your time spent in the area.

The small jars of honey can be custom labelled for special occasions. Honey bonbonnieres would be a lovely memento for guests at a wedding or any other event which needs celebrating.

A perfect day out as it's about 2 hours from Melbourne through picturesque Gippsland. If you are already in the region or holidaying, it's about 20 minutes from Leongatha, 30 minutes from Inverloch and 80 minutes from Phillip Island.

is open Saturday and Sunday 10 am to 3:30 pm. For more information and check opening hours, view their website .

Alternatively ring during business hours and speak to Sharon or Rob. Sharon 0418 502 396 or Rob 0437 501 133.

So, for your next escape from the city or weekend drive head to , 120 Sweeneys Lane, Dumbalk.

If you can't make it to Dumbalk look for their produce at stockists in Gippsland. Check their website for stockists . Alternatively, order online or if you are lucky enough you might find Rob and their produce at local Gippsland markets.

Some of those tempting displays of honey made their way home with me into the pantry and as gifts. And I will return, next time, with freezer blocks to take home the homemade ice-cream.
