Have Lunch in Delightful Surroundings
I had been to the cafe at Waldecks Nursery in Stirling when it first opened several years ago, and decided to try it again.

I was most surprised at the beautiful setting created around this cafe. The nursery is very cleverly set out and has some of the best displays.

From the entrance with vertical gardens and huge pots with waterfalls, Waldecks, Stirling is well worth a visit.

Not only this, but the Blue Lagoon Cafe has an excellent, varied menu and is open seven days a week. You can sit inside or outside amongst the water feature and the colourful plants, and on a lovely sunny day, this was most relaxing.

There are tables in the sun and the shade, as well as a fenced off children's playground.

You can eat while your children play safely

There are large comfortable couch sets, or you can choose an ordinary table with chairs, but whichever you chose, you are sure to relax in these ambient surroundings.

A great choice of where to sit

I was served by Paula who agreed to have her photo taken "as long as she looked pretty"!

I chose a toastie and when it arrived, it was huge, with a side salad and a very tasty dressing, and it would easily have been big enough to share.

The coffee was also good and not too weak as is often the case.

After I had lunch, I wandered around the grounds and the huge indoor area.

Here they have some quite exclusive gifts some of which I have not seen before in nurseries.

A life size statue!

They have some very good ideas and their range of large and small pots is "second to none".

I was actually looking for miniature fruit trees, but in the end could not decide which one I wanted, so I bought other things instead - as is normal for me - I bought more succulents, which I collect.

They have a nice range of general outdoors plants and all look very healthy.

Beautiful rose specimen

This turned out quite an expensive lunch for me as when it comes to plants, I am quite "out of control". But on leaving was really happy that I had once again gone to this delightful nursery, and picked up some good ideas as well as fascinating plants!

Great ideas for vertical gardens
