Don't dilly dally; It's only open for breakfast & lunch
This little cafe has been opened for 4 years and proudly but quietly sits on Nepean Hwy, Seaford. It's easy to miss if you are wizzing past on your bike or in your car. It's worth stopping at for breakfast or lunch but don't dilly dally, as it isn't open for dinner!
We arrived just after 8am for breakfast to find most of the tables inside decorated with reserved signs; this is certainly a good omen, but we still managed to get a table inside. There were plenty of tables out front for alfresco style dining, but at that time of the day I preferred being indoors.
The service was good. There appeared to be a lot of staff who all appeared to be busy and seemed to know what they were doing - perhaps gearing up for a busy day!
A nice place to break your walk if your ambling your way along Kananook Creek, or the beach for an early morning stroll; of course, sitting is never recommended at the beginning of a walk as you may never get up and finish that walk!
I spied one senior staff from Blue Dish in Highett in her trackies buying takeaway coffee, and no I don't belong to the British paparazzi, so I didn't take her photo, but I thought it probably speaks volumes about the quality of the coffee that they're serving.
Comments on the menu - Good honest food, very tasty. Although we were there for breakfast there looked to be a varied menu for lunch with lots of wines on display. Booking - I heard the lady at the counter turned someone away who came in the 4 friends, so for a group, you really need to book! Getting there - Without a car - not far from Seaford Station, just head towards Nepean Highway and turn left once you get there ,it's only a few doors down. With a car - there is parking on Nepean Highway, there is also parking on the other side of the highway but the council charges a parking fee. Additional parking is also to be found behind the Seaford shops. Disabled Access Assessment - Ramp access - no ramp required to get inside, the decking out the front could be access via the shop where there were no stairs Aisle access/width (1 metre) to allow ease of movement - OK
Have been to this cafe and it is brilliant for breakfast and lunch. Stay away from the Beach Cafe which has more in-house rules than a prison. - terrible shame for Seaford but the Manager or Owner obviously has a problem with the fact that she could be earning big bucks - weird. Anyway the food at Blue Iguanais far better, far bigger choice and a lot more RELAXED atmosphere. Highly recommended.
