Event: -
Celebrating James Joyce since 1994

The 'Bloomsday in Melbourne' festival pays tribute to James Joyce's modernist novel 'Ulysses' with a wonderful range of special events to be held between Wednesday 11th and Monday 16th of June, 2014

This festival will demonstrate that 'Ulysses' is for everyone and celebrate its humour, its challenge to rethink the world & its experimentalism.

Held in association with the Brighton Theatre Company and Bayside's Words by the Bay Literary Series, the Bloomsday in Melbourne festival programme will consist of three great events:

Molly Bloom (Cathy Kohlen) is a magnet for Dublin men, including her husband, Poldy, played by Drew Tingwell. Photo by Bernard Peasley.
'Ulysses Prestissimo' is a brand new theatrical adaptation of 'Ulysses', which dramatises all 18 chapters of the novel in under 2 hours. Directed by Wayne Pearn, the high-octane production faithfully represents the language and literary experiments of 'Ulysses'.

The production will run from 11-16 June nightly at 8pm; and on Sunday 15 June at 2.30pm.

Cost: $30 ($20 conc. for Healthcard and student card holders).
Purchase tickets before May 31 and take advantage of a special Early Bird rate of $25.

This one-off seminar will be held on 16 June from 3pm at Bayside Arts and Cultural Centre, corner of Wilson and Carpenter Streets, Brighton, Victoria 3186

Cost: $20 ($15 conc. for Healthcard and student card holders)

The dinner event will be held on 16 June from 5.30pm for 6pm.
