Let's face it, it's not often you get a real chance to test yourself against some tough competition over a challenging, but scenic, route. It's all here, so don't miss out on the inaugural Bloomhill Buderim Burn. This is an incredible opportunity to show your prowess over a 750 metre race up a steep and challenging course set up by Bloomhill Cancer Care at 58 Ballinger Road, Buderim for Sunday, 14 June, 2015.
There's something for everybody. The events and their entry fees are:
Men's, Women's and All Teams - $20 per person;
Senior and Junior School Individuals - $10 per person;
Op Shop Run - $15 per person;
Beat the Butterfly Walkers - $10 per person; and
Family Passes for 2 adults and 2 children - $40.
A Family Pass covers entry in all the races except Team categories.
Save yourself the hassle of a last minute registration by completing it here on-line. If you don't have time to register beforehand, you can make your way to Bloomhill Cancer Care and join the others finalising their registrations from 6.30 am on Sunday, 14 June, 2015.
Adding to the day's fun, prizes will be awarded to first place getters in timed events and to runners and walkers who make the grade for one of the many Best Dressed Awards.
All the races, whether you're a serious road warrior or a family out for some fun together, start from the intersection of Ballinger Road and Andriana Drive. You can join the serious runners or, for those of us more inclined to enjoy pleasure than pain, take in the magnificent Sunshine Coast's beautiful scenery and distract your attention from the burning sensations in your legs to focus more on the visual and environmental delights of the morning.

You can help exchange the low-tech tape measure for measuring Lymphoedema for a high-tech L-Dex machine to enable more accurate and comprehensive management of the condition.
Your participation in the run and enjoyment of the additional attractions will provide much needed funds to Bloomhill. This year, 100% of the monies raised from the Bloomhill Buderim Burn will be used to set up a Lymphoedema Service at the centre.
Lymphoedema occurs in people who have had their lymph glands removed or affected after cancer treatment. They suffer chronic swelling (oedema) usually in the arm(s) or leg(s) that can result in a loss of mobility, discomfort and pain. To monitor those at risk and treat those affected, Bloomhill wants to install a diagnostic machine, have trained Lymphoedema nurses and therapists on staff and provide ongoing education and management sessions. Of course all this needs money and that's where you come in. By joining in all the fun at the Bloomhill Buderim Burn you will help Bloomhill acquire 21st Century equipment for 21st Century treatment.
For more information on joining in the fun or if you would like to volunteer your time to help out call Bloomhill Cancer Care on 5445 5794, check out the web site here or email firstname.lastname@example.org. It's not often you can have this much fun while your time, effort and money helps to ease a lot of suffering.
