On arrival, we were instantly greeted by friendly staff and shown to a table. I also happened to see my Pilates teacher who is the epitome of health. Seeing her instantly gave the venue a thumbs up. It also reminded me how long it had been since I did my Pilates class. I watching her lithe frame enjoying a colourful salad and steaming hot coffee. I then made a quiet vow to myself to find time to improve on for my health and fitness, starting with my stomach. We grabbed the menu eager to order.
At Bloom at Mosman, the menu promotes raw, nutritious and wholesome food. From what I could see, also exceptional coffee. The dishes on the menu, with the exception of the organic bread and wraps are home-made, including their sauces and dressings. Each dish had been designed with an emphasis on keeping ingredients as natural as possible, without lacking in flavour. We all know that fruits and vegetables are very important to our health because they are whole foods, created by nature, rich in nutrients and this is clearly offered on Bloom's menu.
As it was lunchtime, we decided on a moreish hoard of delights. Commencing with my favourite of the day, Bloom Cured Salmon Gravlax Bruschetta served with creme cheese, capers, dill & mixed pickles on thin toasted baguettes.
An absolute must for lunch has to be the popular Wellness Bowl. Yes, it is exactly what you would expect, luscious mouthfuls of garden fresh vegetables spritzed with pickled vinaigrette, quinoa, slabs of avocado and topped with a perky soft boiled egg.
Bloom's talented chefs rely on using healthy cooking methods; steaming, baking, grilling, sauteing and stir-frying to seal in the vitamin contents and flavour. The addition of herbs and spices, not only add flavour, but a dose of medicinal elements to each dish. I could never be full Vitarian as I do enjoy meat. I liked the sound of the Slow-cooked Lamb Soft-Shell Tacos.
Even though we were busting at the seams, we both have a sweet tooth and love coffee. The display in the cabinet contained raw, vegan and gluten-free delights. My partner selected the Orange Cake and I the raw Cherry Cheesecake.
