Vocalist and entertainer Bonnie Lee Galea brings her Blonde Bombshells Of Jazz show to this year's Adelaide Fringe Festival. It's a tribute show that pays homage to all of the blonde musical greats of days gone by.

There are some big shoes to fill here on the bill, but Bonnie and her blonde partner on stage Kerry Reid bring back to life legendary jazz singers like Doris Day, Marilyn Monroe, Marlene Dietrich, Peggy Lee, Mae West and many more. Their 4 piece backing band, Jazz In Cheek Quartet featuring Richard Coates on the keyboard, Quinton Dunne on double bass, Steve Todd on drums and Josh Chenoweth on trumpet, supported the singers with their expert musical skills - the show is great cabaret entertainment. There wasn't a spare seat in the room and this show about the blonde stars of swing was a real crowd pleaser.

There were slinky and sparkly dresses, feather boas and gloves. There were blonde wigs and winks galore! It's cheeky and fun and the girls can certainly belt those tunes out. The quick changes and altering of personalities struck the right balance and kept the show moving along at an interesting pace.

Audience interaction by Bonnie and Kerry provided some comic fun for those of us in the theatre and the classic wit of Mae West one-liners had everyone smiling along.

This show takes us on a little trip back to the elegance and charm of a time long gone and the great music that is synonymous with the era. Get along and see this show if you can - the season is very limited with only 2 shows remaining this Fringe.

You can see the Blonde Bombshells Of Jazz at The A Club , 109-110 Waymouth Street in Adelaide on Friday the 9th and Saturday the 10th of March. Tickets for the show are available from the Fringe website , dinner and show packages are available from the venue .
