Whether you are from the shores of Britain, you have visited and would love to return, or (like me) you are just a fan of British television, you will no doubt have wished for some good ole' fashioned English fish and chips.

Hand cut chips and curry sauce
Chip shop curry, mushy peas, pork pies - all the things Australian fish and chip shops just don't get quite right can be found at Blighty's.
After watching a short lived but quirky English TV show in which a detective sits down to eat chips with curry sauce, my husband and I were determined to try such a marvel; curry and chips - who would have thought!
Blighty's Traditional British Fish and Chips is hidden away in The Hub Shopping Centre in Aberfoyle Park and offers a wide range of delicious English inspired snacks and meals including the options I've already listed as well as pickled eggs, onion rings and array of fish generally only found in British fish and chip shops. If you're a fan Scottish cuisine, or brave enough to try something different, haggis, black pudding and white pudding are also available.

Entry to Blighty's
Need something to wash all this down? English soft drinks are available including Tizer, Tango and Vimto.
The hand cut chips were well cooked and brown and the traditional curry sauce was tasty without being overpowering.
We visited Blighty's on a Saturday afternoon when no one else was in the store. The service was fast and for less than $10 we had enough chips for both of us and a can of Tizer.
Blighty's is a nice, traditional fish and chip shop with freshly made food and friendly service.
Entry into the shop can be gained from the mall but also from outside and near a grassy area with a couple of benches, perfect for enjoying your meal in the sunshine.
