Family fun by the rivers edge
Blaxland Riverside Park is an expansive multi-spaced playground nestled on the bank of the Parramatta River and taking in its picturesque vista. Situated North of Sydney Olympic Park in the Newington Armory precinct this busy parkland has become a haven for celebrations, parties and family outings.
The park, officially opened on the 1st of June 2012, features flying foxes, swings, slides, climbing nets, a 12 metre high tree house and a 170 jet waterpark. On the weekends families stream into the area and kids cover the equipment like busy soldier ants. Parking close to the playground fills up quickly, but just up the road is a larger carpark, and only a 3 minute walk away. Both carparks are free.
Wide open spaces, free barbeque areas, cycle and walking paths, two cafes, giant chess and plenty of covered and uncovered seating makes this park a true entertainment hub, for individuals and families alike.
The park is open every day of the year from sunrise to sunset.
