On Sunday April 8th, Bare Island at La Perouse is hosting its annual Blak Market. It's sure to be a hit! It's $2.50 entry for adults and children over the age of 5. 0 - 5 years old are FREE.
The gates will open at 9:30am and close at 4:00pm. The program is jam-packed.
There will be artists from art centres around the country celebrating the best of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art. You will be able to buy bespoke art, jewellery and craft. As well as unique homewares and beauty products.
The day includes a Welcome to Country, Healing Ceremony workshops, dance fun and other entertainment.
You will be able to try the best of native Australian bush tucker. Think bush sausages highlighting the flavours of kangaroo, emu, crocodile and wild boar. A kangaroo burger is also available, with native pepper to bring out the 'roo.
The crowning achievement of this special one-day event is that all profit goes back into the Aboriginal communities who participate. So it's win-win all round.
