The iconic
Blak Markets at Bare Island La Perouse is back on
Sunday 21 March 2021 from 9am to 3pm. Bare Island was part of the traditional land of the Gweagal and Kameygal Aboriginal tribes and is connected by a footbridge to the suburb of La Perouse.
There's plenty in store for you to enjoy with a wonderful array of native plants which include bushfoods and bush-herbs which are developed by
Indigigrow, the other social enterprise arm of the charity who runs the
Blak Markets. This is the place for your authentic, unique gifts, and 100% of the profits go back into Aboriginal communities.
Find Aboriginal Artwork at affordable prices, beauty products, one-of-a-kind homewares, jewellery, Indigenous-inspired food and refreshments, cultural dance performance, Aboriginal Singing performance and an interactive session for the kids. For those of you who like to keep your hands busy, there's a weaving workshop where you can learn to weave.
