Most Sydneysiders know that Blacktown is in the greater western area and is only about 34 kilometres west of the Sydney Centre. This year, Blacktown will be getting its very own family festival of colours to celebrate love, peace and happiness.
This is a fabulous opportunity to spread colours of love and to have a fun day with your friends and family by the lake. It will be held at Fairwater Park, which is one of the most beautiful spots in Blacktown! If you haven't been there yet, it would be a good idea to check it out!
If you enjoy having fun with family and friends, or if you like to eat different foods and have the children run around enjoying themselves, then this Holi festival is the place to be.
This one-day festival will be held on Sunday 10th March 2019. It is sure to be a great party/event and the Blacktown Holi festival will feature many hours of non-stop music, children's entertainment, very yummy food and the dry colour play zone to
"shower your loved ones with colour."
Obviously, Blacktown's brightest Holi festival will be lots of fun, where you can do things such as cover people with fluoro paint powder, though you will have to decide who you will do this to!
This year, an exciting addition will be the whole neighbourhood coming to Fairwater! It will be a free event and you can book/register at this
Eventbrite site.
It will be on Sunday 10th March 2018 from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm. It will be held at Fairwater Park, Fairwater Boulevard, which is off Richmond Road, Blacktown.
Some of the things on at this thrilling event include:
Henna - This is a popular and striking Indian tradition, where you can get your henna drawn on the day by the henna artist.
Colour Fun - This will be a dry play zone with natural Gulal powder. Can you imagine smearing this all over someone - get your revenge at last (in a nice way)!
Thomas The Tank Engine Ride - hop on Thomas and enjoy a ride around Fairwater Park
Bouncy Fun - let the children jump themselves silly!
Face Painting - this is possibly the most popular activity at the event, particularly for children! You have a choice in what you want to be painted on your face, so think about it now.
Live Music - sit back, chill out and enjoy hours of non-stop music with Bollywood DJ Bali.
Indian Link Radio Jockeys - here there will be the Indian Link Radio Jockeys for good fun and games.
Food and Drinks - and it wouldn't be a festival without great Indian food stalls and those special Holi sweets.
