The name

This newly opened café is not in a conspicuous location with its entrance from a walkway off Anderson Street.

The corner view, entrance around the corner.

After entering the main door, if you glance upwards, you will see the unusual sight of 25 doors suspended horizontally from the ceiling.

Doors
Ceiling to ceiling doors.

On my first visit, I just ordered a toasted bacon sandwich and a cappuccino. At $12-50, I thought it was a little expensive, but the coffee was excellent. I would return just for the coffee.

Order at the counter.

The small things I noted was that I was offered water and cutlery for the sandwich which was quite large and they supplied large serviettes.

I did return again for the coffee and this time I ordered a delicious looking Portuguese custard tart. Upon request they zapped it in the microwave as custard is best consumed warm.

The Blacksmith's Brother offers an extensive breakfast menu and specialises in burgers for later in the day, with plenty of liquid items for everyone's taste.

Coffee & cake.
My hot coffee and Portuguese custard tart.

Late in the day with most of the fresh goodies eaten.

The Blacksmith's Brother is a sister café (or should that be a brother café) to the Blacksmith café in Belgrave. Use the 26th door to gain entry.
