There are three op shops in Blackburn. One in Blackburn itself, one in Blackburn South and one in Blackburn North.

**Epilepsy Foundation Op Shop
82 South Parade,
Blackburn.**

Melways map: 47 K. 10.

Hours: Monday to Friday. 9.30. am to 5.00 am.
Saturday 9.30 am to 3.00 pm.

Phone: 9894-8266

This small op shop is in the middle of the Blackburn shopping strip, opposite the station. It is stocked with the usual range of op shop merchandise, with a nice range of crockery and glassware.

A very long set of shelving along one wall displays all their glassware, cups, mugs, kitchenware. They also have a good range of jewellery.

The aisles are quite wide for a small shop which makes browsing through the clothing racks easy.

In the centre of the shop is a Bernina sewing machine sitting on a Horn sewing cabinet, a rare sight these days with the plethora of cheap clothing.

Even cheaper clothing can be obtained by perusing their many racks of clothing. Like most op shops they only display and offer clean merchandise.

**Rotary Op Shop.
113 Canterbury Road,
Blackburn South.
**
Melways map: 61 J.1.

Hours: Monday to Friday 10.00 am. to 4.00 pm.
Saturday 9.30 am. to 12.30 pm.

Operated by the Box Hill Rotary Club, this small shop doesn't seem cramped, but still has a good range of the usual op shop merchandise.

It follows the usual op shop layout. Racks of clothing in the centre, glassware, crockery and bric-a-brac in shelving along the walls and the book section at the rear.

At the moment they are having a winter sale, and also frequently have daily half-price sales.

**Don Care Op Shop
Shop 38,
North Blackburn Shopping Centre,
Springfield Road North Blackburn.**

Melways map: 47 K. 7.

Hours: Monday to Friday. 9.00 am to 5.30 pm.
Saturday. 9.00 am. to 5.00 pm.

Phone 9878-6479

Doncare operate six op shops in the Cities of Manningham and Whitehorse and supports local vulnerable people and families.

The North Blackburn shop is very bright and well lit. The shop is quite wide which allows the large range of merchandise to be well spread out, and in some sections it is hard to tell you are in an op shop.

Hats, ties and belts is one small section which looked interesting.

Bric-a-brac and crockery items dominate the view as you walk in, as there is a large range of such goodies.

The three Blackburn op shops are not within walking distance of each other, but there are other attractions around each one that would make an half day's outing if you are a connoisseur of op shop shopping, particular the small cafes in Blackburn proper.
