Europe's finest female a cappella quintet has been wowing global audiences with its singing and performances in the black oral tradition since 1987. This early music form inspires a unique repertoire and arrangement that combines jazz, gospel, pop and reggae with traditional African, Caribbean and English folk songs that is the hallmark of Black Voices.
The all-female quintet based in Birmingham, UK has performed for Nelson Mandela, Pope John Paul II, Queen Elizabeth II and other members of the British Royal Family. The members have also shared the stage with greats like Ray Charles, Miriam Makeba, Take 6, Nina Simone and Wynton Marsalis.
As part of their 2014 tour, Black Voices will be bringing their unique brand of a cappella to Europe, Middle East and Australia. You can enjoy this harmonic blend of rich African, Caribbean and British heritage as it fills the City Recital Hall in Sydney on 2 November. Tickets are available here.
